5 Feel good stories this week!

With many stories about wildlife being so negative – it’s time we spread a little joy about the wonderful world of wildlife! So, here is five feel good stories that we think you will love to hear about this week ♡ 

Ospreys have bred in Ireland for the first time in 200 years!

A pair bred at a confidential location in Co Fermanagh and successfully raised at least two (and possibly three) chicks to fledging, Ulster Wildlife revealed.


Gwent becomes home to dragonfly hotspots

Exciting news! 🌟 Magor Marsh and Newport Wetlands nature reserves are set to become the latest additions to the list of Dragonfly Hotspots in the UK, as recognized by the British Dragonfly Society (BDS). 🌿🌏

These exceptional sites have been selected for their incredible diversity of dragonfly and damselfly species, easy accessibility, and the fantastic opportunity they provide for learning more about these magnificent wetland creatures.

In 2024, they will officially join the ranks of Dragonfly Hotspots, representing the stunning Gwent Levels. As of now, there’s only one other Welsh location on the list, Llangorse Lake, along with ten sites in Scotland and ten in England.


Wetland to be created at Dorset sewage works

Aviva to support restoration of saltmarshes

Today Aviva announces a new partnership with the Wildfowl & Wetlands Trust (WWT) to support saltmarsh research and restoration in the UK. The work supports Aviva’s ambition to make the UK the most climate-ready large-economy by 2030.
